A case series was performed on eight patients suffering from major depressive disorder (MDD) and symptoms of psychomotor agitation, insomnia, and anxiety. The majority were prescribed one capsule daily of Lasea (the active substance is Silexan) with concomitant antidepressant medication for 3 weeks. One patient received two capsules daily. The HAMA was used to measure effectiveness. The treatment reduced MDD in six cases, agitation in ve, anxiety in four, and sleep onset and maintenance in three cases. It was concluded that Lasea reduces some of the anxiety related symptoms and sleep disturbances in MDD patients (Fissler and Quante, 2014). [Pg.393]
