Demand sensing importance

As described earlier in the chapter, the more sensitive and responsive channel sales are to trends and seasonality, the more important demand sensing is to driving supply chain excellence. The ability to rapidly detect changes in demand gives companies greater flexibility to accommodate those changes, or influence overall demand. 

Being applied for the relaxation of populations (k = 0), this equality expresses the demands of the detailed balance principle. This is simply a generalization of Eq. (4.25), which establishes the well-known relation between rates of excitation and deactivation for the rotational spectrum. It is much more important that equality (5.21) holds not only for k = 0 but also for k = 1 when it deals with relaxation of angular momentum J and the elements should not be attributed any obvious physical sense. From Sect. 2.8.6, it is clear that FEP calculations for many systems of practical interest are expected to be computationally very demanding. It is, thus, important to develop numerical techniques that allow us to apply the theory outlined so far in an efficient manner. If properly used, these techniques make calculations better in every sense - i.e., they improve both their accuracy and efficiency. It is, therefore, highly recommended that they be employed in practical applications of FEP. Chapter 6 is devoted entirely to this topic. Here, we only give the reader a preview of a few issues that will be covered in that chapter. In addition, we will discuss two other promising techniques that fall outside the conceptual framework developed in Chap. 6.

It is also important to note Corvino s excessive, lengthy, and jealous tirade on fidelity, his quick reversal of form, and, finally, his warm sympathy for his wife. These emotional transitions demand a sophisticated comic touch and a delicate sense of timing, attributes found only in great character actors. 

The reader should be aware of this scene s excellence as courtroom drama. The members of the audience have not heard Mosca s composition, but they know his desperate position. Will justice triumph Will the avocatori see through Mosca s lie How will Bonario and Celia escape from their predicament Perhaps the audience senses that Mosca and Volpone will be unmasked. Certainly the comic tradition of the Elizabethan stage demanded their downfall. Still, the important questions of what will undo them and how it will be accomplished remain to be solved. 

These verbal modifiers and labels help analysts to make sense of the mean values expressed by respondents. Additional approaches include the use of multiple items to assess component satisfaction scores and summing these to create an overall satisfaction index. There are some complexities with indices since it is necessary to weight the importance of the components rather than simply add them. This requirement demands that researchers collect both importance ratings and satisfaction ratings of the contributing elements. 

Even when the laboratory test reactor is intended to be representative in a reaction kinetic sense only (thus waiving the demand for correspondence in terms of pressure drop and hold-ups), the process performance data can be affected by differences in mass transfer and dispersion caused by scale reduction. When interphase mass transfer and chemical kinetics are both important for the overall conversions, the above test reactor, which is a relatively large pilot plant reactor, cannot be further reduced in size unless one accepts deviations in test results.
