Degree of Branching Distributions

From the results discussed above, it is concluded that the crystallization behavior of HDPE/LLDPE blends depends on the number, length, and distribution of branches in the LLDPE component. In general, it was found that increases in the number and degree of branch distribution in the LLDPE component reduce the tendency of cocrystallization in the LLDPE blend with HDPE. [Pg.92]

For commercial grades of unfractionated PVP prepared by similar means (presumed to exhibit similar molecular weight distribution (MWD) and degree of branching), the following regression formula can be employed (71) ... [Pg.527]

Although carbohydrates/polysaccharides exist in such huge amounts, their industrial processing is expensive due to enormous quality fluctuations of succeeding raw material batches. The reason for these fluctuations is a high variability on the molecular level, particularly in the degree of polymerization distribution, in branching characteristics, and in complex interactive properties. [Pg.459]

To produce a saleable polymer, the polymer produced should have a required Molecular weight, Molecular weight distribution and degree of branching. To obtain such a product various factors have to be taken into consideration. Factors like the nature of the monomer, the type of polymerisation mechanism chosen, the required physical form of the polymer and the viability of the process for industrial production dictate the physical conditions under which polymerisation is to be carried out. [Pg.14]

In order to prolong the pot life of the system, a reduction in polydispersity is quite important. Shape polydispersity of the polymer, which is determined by the distribution of topological isomers, is expressed through a quantity Frechet and coworkers originally termed degree of branching [78], which reaches unity for... [Pg.136]
