Deformable registration

For plastic electronics and many other systems, multiple layers must be patterned on top of each other with good overlay registration. A challenge with pCP is that the elastomeric stamps tend to deform during the printing. This deformation can alter, in ways that are difficult to control, the precise alignment of features. There are at least two simple strategies to reduce these problems ... 

Deformations in the stamps can cause difficulties in alignment and registration. To quantify these deformations, the exact positions of the features on the stamp were compared with those on the PR master [41]. Although absolute distortions are important, relative distortions between multiple prints of the same pattern are enough to prove the feasibility of using pCP technique for printing multilayer structures.

Band intensities, if available, were taken from the references. Usually the intensities are summarized as weak, medium and strong bands. Shoulders arise from overlapping bands.
