Defining a Policy on PSSR

The PSSR administrative procedure or other process safety management system document can state the organization s policy in relatively straightforward terms. 

The following is one example of such a policy statement. Modify it as needed to match your company s basic approach to pre-startup safety review. 

A pre-startup safety review will be petformed before the startup of a new or significantly modified facility is authorized. 

Risk ranking will be performed for every trigger to determine the nature and scope of the PSSR.
