Dedications LeRoy Eyring

Finally, again, it is a great pleasure for us to publish this book in honor of a great scientist. Prof Dr. Leroy Eyring, who has dedicated his life for studying the physics and chemistry of rare earth oxides. [Pg.256]

The editors are much obliged to all those who cooperated in bringing this project to a successful close. In the first place, we thank the authors of the individual chapters. We are also grateful to Publishing Manager, Dr. Liesbeth Mol and the staffs of Mrs. Vaska Krabbe and Mrs. Marianne van den Hurk, Kluwer Academic Publishers. Finally, it is our great honor to dedicate this book to Professor Dr. LeRoy Eyring, who is a professor emeritus at Arizona State University and has done an enormous contribution not only to rare earth oxides but also to all aspects of rare earths. [Pg.285]

This volume of the Handbook on the Physics and Chemistry of Rare Earth begins with a Dedication to late Professor LeRoy Eyring who had been a committed co-editor of the first 32 volumes of this series. The Dedication is written by Professor Karl Gschneidner Jr., Professor Emeritus Harry A. Eick, Dr. Zhenchuan Kang, Professor Emeritus Michael O Keeffe, and Professor Emeritus Edgar E. Westrum, and contains a detailed vita of Professor LeRoy Eyring. [Pg.523]
