Dealloyed Precious Metals on Teflon or Asymmetric Membranes

11 Dealloyed Precious Metals on Teflon or Asymmetric Membranes [Pg.174]

Decreasing aggregation provides effective usage of the catalysts due to an increase in the active surface area. It was early demonstrated that the catalytic activity was better for the amorphous catalyst than that of the crystalline. Also, as the feature shape becomes more uniform (e.g. spherical), the catalytic activity worsens. Additionally, smaller the featme sizes usually result in better catalytic activity. [Pg.174]

Therefore, higher surface areas could be provided from catalysts which are amorphous, less uniform, and smaller in feature size. Dealloying could be a novel approach for the preparation of highly porous catalysts bearing these desired properties. Pt and Al were deposited on Teflon and an [Pg.174]
