Deadlines, adherence

We would Hke to take this opportunity to thank all contributors for their chapters. Their cooperation in adhering to the, at times tight, deadlines is much appreciated. Finally, we wish to express our gratitude to the staff at Wiley-VCH, and in particular Manfred Kohl and Stefanie Volk, for their kind assistance in bringing these volumes to fruition. 

We would like to thank the contributors for the in-depth coverage of their topics, for their adherence to deadlines, and for serving as models for future and potential authors for this series. 

Among the major characteristics of consistent customer orientation are the ability to make fast and reliable delivery commitments (volume, deadlines) and to dependably adhere to them. 

The contractor will make all reasonable efforts in the execution of the performance/service to adhere to the deadlines under the penalty clause. 

The contractor is obliged to immediately inform the employer in writing about threatening delays attributable to the contractor. In case, because of a fault on the part of the contractor, the adherence to the deadlines under the penalty clause involves extra costs, the contractor has to take the necessary measures and to bear all extra costs incurred. 

Similarly, an experienced CRO may ask questions such as the quantities of sample that the manufacturer should provide and the deadline for the test results before they are needed to file the subnfission. The required amount of samples will depend on the nature of the material or device in conformance to the relevant regulations, on which the CRO will normally advise. The guidelines for biocompatibility testing usually have strict requirements on test samples, to which the medical device manufacturer should adhere. Alteration of the sample requirements should be approved by the regulators, and the manufacturer is usually required to present justifications for doing so.
