Dabco Subject

Subjection of this material to a formylation protocol involving a Rh catalyst, a bulky phosphite and DABCO (l,4-diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octane) in the presence of H2/CO gas mixture, gives a high yield of the desired aldehyde. Iteration of these steps leads to the synthesis of Tolypothrix pentaether. 

An efficient method for the oxidative cleavage of solid-supported peptide olefins into aldehydes using a combination of OsOa/NalOa/DABCO system was described by Meldal and coworkers. The resulting aldehydes are subjected to intermolec-ular (V-acylium Pictet-Spengler reactions to furnish pyrroloiso-quinoline derivatives in high purity (eq 76). ... 

Using optimized reaction conditions, other substrates were subjected to tritylation reaction in ball mill (Scheme 4.7). Yields vary from moderate to good, and uridine besides being converted to its 5 -0-trityl derivative 27 was also converted to 5 -0-dimethoxytrityl derivative 28 by milling with DMTCl (2.5 mol equiv.), respectively, in the presence of DABCO (2.5mol equiv.).
