D organometallic complexes

The silver ion is situated exactly in the center of the cavity as an X-ray crystal structure demonstrates. Therefore 31 is the first square-planar d °-organometallic complex. Besides, carbon-silver couplings in the C-N MR spectrum prove that the nature of the complex is static, i.e. the central ion is bound tightly to the ligand 30.

The organometallic complexes with d-metals are considered as promising electrocatalysts for oxygen electroreduction in air-metal electrochemical cells. Obviously, the first idea was to employ the catalytic mechanism of the oxygen reduction with porphyrin-like metal complexes [1] found in living beings (Figure 1).
