Electrical contacting of iso-2-cytochrome c (iso-2-Cyt c, from Saccharomyces cerevisiae) can be achieved by the covalent linking of its cysteine residues to an electrodebound maleimide monolayer [344]. The association constant between the iso-2-Cyt c-monolayer and COx is very high (K3 = 1.2 X 10 M ) [301], and an integrated iso-2-Cyt c/COx electrode is, therefore, prepared with relative ease (Fig. 27).
