Cyclophosphamide-treated mice

Berbamine has been utilized in the Orient (China and Japan) in the therapy of leukopenic complications of cancer. Mice treated with non-toxic doses of the alkaloid displayed a significant enhancement of neutrophil and lymphocyte counts in their circulation, but a decrease in the numbers of bone marrow stem cells in a dose-dependent manner after two weeks.
