A solution of the cobalt (II) salt is treated with NagCOa 10 H3O, added in small portions and with stirring, until the pH reaches 3.5 then IN NasCOg solution is added imtil the cobalt carbonate just barely precipitates. The precipitated carbonates are removed by filtration. Following this, 8 ml. of a saturated aqueous solution of 1,2-cyclohexanedione dioxime is added for each 10 mg. of Ni, Cu and Fe present in the filtrate.
