Cyclohexane-1,2-dione dioxime

Cyclohexane-1,2-dione dioxime (nioxime) (IV) is more soluble in water (8.2 g L 1 at 21 °C) than is dimethylglyoxime it is an excellent reagent for the gravimetric determination of palladium.

Cyclohexane-1,2-dione dioxime (nioxime) complexes of cobalt (II) and nickel (II) were concentrated from 10 ml seawater samples onto a hanging mercury drop electrode by controlled adsorption. Cobalt (II) and nickel (II) reduction currents were measured by differential pulse cathodic stripping voltammetry. Detection limits for cobalt and nickel were 6 pM and 0.45 mM, respectively. The results of detailed studies for optimising the analytical parameters, namely nioxime and buffer concentrations, pH, and adsorption potential are discussed. 

Cyclohexane-1,2-dione dioxime (Nioxime) alcohol/water and dried in a vacuum at 40 . 

Cyclohexane-1,2-dione dioxime (0.43g, 3mmol), 0.35g (2mmol) of ferrocenylboric acid, and 0.20 g (1 mmol) of FeCl2 4H20 were dissolved in lOmL of methanol and stirred for 1 hr. The red-orange precipitate was filtrated and washed with methanol, diethyl ether, and pentane. The product was recrystallized from chloroform and dried in vacuo. Yield 0.65 g (71%). 

Cyclocondensation of 2-aminobenzoylformic acid 98 and cyclohexane-1,2-dione dioxime 99, followed by decarboxylation with concomitant dehydrogenation of the diacid 100, gave quino[3,2-c]acridine 101 (Scheme 19) (70JPR1105). The same skeleton 102 was obtained from the Ullmann-amine coupling reaction of 2-aminobenzophenone and 1,2-diiodobenzene, followed by ring closure (85LA1501).
