Cyanuric chloride/dimethylformamide

Cyanuric chloride reacts vigorously and exothermically with DMF after a deceptively long induction period. The 1 1 adduct initially formed decomposes above 60° C with evolution of carbon dioxide and formation of a dimeric unsaturated quaternary ammonium salt. Dimethylformamide is appreciably basic and is not a suitable solvent for acyl halides. [Pg.382]

A variety of oximes 255 undergo the Beckmann rearrangement upon treatment with 2,4,6-trichloro-l,3,5-triazine (cyanuric chloride, 256) in A,A-dimethylformamide (DMF, 257) at room temperature in excellent yields (equation 77). [Pg.399]

Amines. The amines used to sequentially substitute the chlorines of cyanuric chloride free or immobilized onto agarose vary from case to case. In general, the amines should be dissolved in an appropriate buffer, either an aqueous solution or an organic solvent such as dimethylformamide. Take precautions related to the re-ac-tivity of each compound, which in some cases may involve the protection of... [Pg.47]

We found that cyanuric chloride reacts easily but in a controllable manner with dimethylformamide and C02 being evolved. The reaction was fully elucidated later by H. Gold (1960). [Pg.17]

Heterocycles by Azavinamidinium Salts. Treatment of cyanuric chloride with dimethylformamide produces N-dimethyl(2-aza-3-dimethylamino)allylidene ammonium chloride100, used as perchlorate (7 ), which can serve as a component... [Pg.206]

CYANURIC CHLORIDE (108-77-0) Reacts with moist air, forming fumes of hydrogen chloride fumes. Violent exothermic reaction with water above 86°F/30°C or steam, forming hydrogen chloride and cyanic acid. Violent reaction with ethanol, dimethylformamide, dimethylsulfoxide, methanol. Isolate from alcohols and caustic materials. [Pg.366]

Gold has discovered an interesting reaction leading to a Vilsmeier-Haack-type complex. When cyanuric chloride (CLXXXVIII) is dissolved in N,N-dimethylformamide at 20°C reaction occurs with formation of the 1 2 complex CLXXXIX. If the reaction is conducted at slightly higher temperature an exothermic reaction occurs with evolution of carbon dioxide affording the iminium chloride CXC... [Pg.104]

Cyanuric chloride added at 0° to abs. dimethylformamide, then a soln. of 3-methylenephthalimidine in dimethylformamide added dropwise with stirring, after 1 hr. poured into ice-water, and treated with Na-perchlorate 3-(2-dimethyl-... [Pg.191]

Perfluoroalkylation of cyanuric fluoride with perfluorocarbanions goierated in situ from perfiuoro-oleflns and alkali-metal fluorides or triethylammonium fluoride in acetonitrile or dimethylformamide has been reported in the patent literature similarly, details of the preparation of perfluoroisopropoxy-substituted sym-triazines via treatment of cyanuric chloride with hexa-fluoroacetone and potassium fluoride in diglyme have been disclosed. ... [Pg.259]
