The formation of crystalline oxides is evident from XRD analysis of the resulting materials. As-made Ti02 heat treated under Ar (CCM-Ti02-C) shows several well-resolved, sharp peaks on a flat baseline (Fig. 21.22a, A), suggesting that the amorphous as-synthesized Ti02 was successfully converted to anatase.
