Creating a new industry - material flows

A national model for carpet collection, sorting, processing, and distribution has been proposed. It is based on the idea of regional collection centers which would receive, sort, and process post-consumer carpet and prepare it for distribution to end-users based on geography and demand. Building on similar examples of web-based exchange sites, the model would allow users to request and bid on materials which would then be shipped from the closest collection center.
