Cq-antitrypsin

Blood plasma also contains at least nine other protease inhibitors. One of these, the thrombin inhibitor antithrombin HI (Section 9), contains the sequence Arg-Ser-Leu at the Pj, P/, and P2 sites. A tragic case of a person bom with a Met 385 —> Arg mutation in cq-antitrypsin has been reported.513 This converted the antitrypsin to an antithrombin causing a bleeding disorder that was eventually fatal.
