Obtained by alkaline degradation of 6,7,3, 4 -tetra-methoxyisoflavone (m.p. 187-188°) (SM) with sodium hydroxide in refluxing 50% aqueous ethanol (45%) [5379]. SM was isolated from the heartwood of Cordyla africana (Leguminosae). [Pg.1518]
