Copper, organo- compounds cuprates

R -R, is formed (Sheppard, 1970). Therefore, reaction of certain organo-coppers with excess cuprates, followed by oxidation, can lead to selective cross-coupling (Corey and Katzenellenbogen, 1969 Whitesides et al., 1969b). Reverse addition of organolithium compounds or Grignard reagents... 

Allylic acetates or related compounds can also be displaced by organo-cuprates. A synthetic approach to prostaglandins (PC s) via cross-coupling of a vinylic copper reagent with an allylic electrophile has been elaborated (Corey and Mann, 1973). Notably the reaction of LXI and LXII proceeds exclusively by an Sn2 pathway. 

Organo-copper compounds are important for the (C-C)-connection. In the solid state such copper compounds can exist as linear polymer. An example is the cyanocuprat [2-(Me2NCH2)(C6H4)2CuLi2(CN)(THF)4] c structured as polymeric chain with alternating cuprat-anions (Ar2Cu) and cations (LiCNLi) [315,316], 2,4,6-Tris[4-pyridyl)-methyl-sulfanyl]-l,3,5-triazine forms with Ag a one-dimensional chain polymer with nanometer tubes 73a (M = Ag(II)) [317], These tubes are connected via Ag-N and Ag-S bonds to linear chains 73b. Other comparable polymers are mentioned in [317]. 

Methods for the preparation of air stable trimethylsilyl substituted trivinylboranes and 9-halo-9-borafluorenes (which are readily converted into methoxy, methylthio and diethyl amino derivatives) have been published. The ability of various cuprates to transfer organo groups to 9-BBN has been investigated and the reactions of aromatic organo copper compounds with organoboranes probed. ...
