Cooling 1st Catalyst Bed Exit Gas

This chapter examines oxidation of the S02 in cooled 1st catalyst bed exit gas - in a 2nd catalyst bed. 

Cooling 1st catalyst bed exit gas to 700 K and passing the cooled gas through a 2nd catalyst bed raises S02 oxidation efficiency from -70% to -90%, Fig. 14.3.
