EXAMPLE 13.7 Conversion of fructose 1,6-bisphosphate into fructose 6-phosphate is more straightforward than the previous bypass of a kinase reaction. It involves simply the hydrolysis of a phosphate group. Nevertheless, the enzyme fructose-1,6-bisphosphatase is subject to very complex regulation.
