Contact Problems as DAEs

The code HEDOPRI5 has been implemented among other special codes for multibody systems in the collection MBSPACK [Sim95]. [Pg.185]

In this section we discuss the modeling of contact problems between two rigid bodies. In contrast to others joints, contact joints allow that the contact point or point of attachment moves along the surface of the body. [Pg.185]

We give a DAE formulation of this problem, discuss the nature of the equations and point out open problems. [Pg.185]
