Conducting polymer-based sensors

Although multi-functionality of conducting polymers could be realized by a variety of methods as described above, fadle, effident, and controllable synthesis for multi-functional conducting polymer nanostructures is still in need. Moreover, the previous papers paid most attention to multi-functionahty, whereas the study of its size effect on the physical properties is lacking.

Marsella and Swager have studied conducting-polymer-based sensors for selective ionochromic response [126]. For example, the polymer (molecular weight 2800) depicted in Figure 98 showed a Al of 15 nm, 63 nm and 10 nm in the presence of Li, Na and K, respectively.
