Conclusions and predictions for the future

The negative expansivity is an universal phenomenon in polymer crystals, semicrystalline polymers, oriented or unoriented polymers, PLC and PLC + thermoplastic blends. The rigid rod PLC molecule is highly anisotropic. The axial expansivity of a PLC is — 5 to —10 while the radial expansivity is highly positive ( 70 X 10 K ). PLCs
