Compound-class separation of extracts by HPLC

Most environmental sample extracts in an organic solvent require clean-up before they can be analysed by GC-ECD reliably and without causing damage to the separation column. Failme to remove interfering compounds, usually present at much higher concentrations than the organochlorine compounds of interest, will lead to interferences with GC-ECD procedures. [Pg.488]

Normal treatment of the sample extracts involves clean-up over an AI2O3 micro-column, followed by class separation with a silica gel micro-column. In our experience AI2O3 clean- [Pg.488]
