Complementary tests for application on airfields

When PA is to be used in airfields, it is required to also determine the following (a) resistance to fuels, (b) resistance to de-icing fluids and (c) bitumen-aggregate affinity. [Pg.262]

For resistance to de-icing fluids, see Section 5.4.1.3.6 and substitute AC with PA. [Pg.262]

The bitumen-aggregate affinity, expressed in number of aggregate particles not completely coated by binder after immersion in water, should be less than the maximum value selected, specified or declared. [Pg.262]

The maximum value should be either 1%, 3%, 5% or 10%, assigned to categories BBAj, BBA3, BBA5 and BBAjo. [Pg.262]

The determination of the affinity between aggregate and bitumen is conducted in accordance to EN 12697-11 (2012), Part B. For a short description of the test, see Section 3.73.2. [Pg.262]
