In other words, the sample and sensor can respond instantaneously and there are no significant thermal lags in any part of the system including the sample. The simplest approach, and one that in practice is often justified, is to not carry out the phase lag correction and make the approximation as has already been mentioned above, i.e. C = CpR. In many practical cases, knowing CpK or C (= CpK/6) is not of any value. Thus, it can simply be neglected.
