In a subsequent study of comparable design, a classification algorithm identified a set of putative markers in the 4-8 kDa mass range. The model with the highest classification accuracy included two masses, at miz 8132 and 4002. For an independent set of sera, the pattern could differentiate patients (different stages of colorectal cancer) from healthy subjects with both sensitivity and specificity of 95% [104].
