Color measurements complementary

To establish the color change quality of an indicator on an objective basis, the color changes have to be characterized by chromatic parameters. The sequence of color changes of indicators can be described for both CIE and complementary chromaticity systems from the experimental values obtained in indicator solutions, by continuous measurement of the absorbance values at 10 nm intervals between 380 and 770 nm over the pH range of the color change of the indicator, and simultaneously by potentiometric measurement. [Pg.2193]

Chapter 8 by Evgeny Shapiro and Moshe Shapiro, entitled Adiabatic Raman Photoassociation with Shaped Laser Pulses, provides an interesting complementary approach to the ultrafast/ultracold two-color photoassociation scheme. They study the Raman adiabatic passage of an incoming wavepacket of two colliding atoms to form a translationally ultracold diatomic molecule. This wavepacket approach provides an interesting alternative to the theory described in the previous chapter. In addition, the authors of Chapter 8 pursue both analytical theory and numerical simulations for KRb and Rb2, which shows how a photoassociation measurement can be used to probe the wavefunction of the colliding atoms. [Pg.719]
