Coenzyme conformational trigger

The presence of coenzyme greatly increases the affinity of the enzyme for substrates. There is a wide body of evidence to support this. Fluorescence quenching, CD spectra, thermodynamic studies support evidence from UV studies and X-ray data that coenzyme binding triggers a conformational change in the enzyme upon coenzyme binding. [Pg.5891]
