Citizenship civilization

It is obvious that the objection on the part of congress [to admitting Asians to citizenship] is not due to color, as color, but only to color as an evidence of a type of civilization which it characterizes. The yellow or brown racial color is the hallmark of Oriental despotisms. .. It was deemed that the subjects of these despotisms, with their fixed and ingrained pride in the type of their civilization. . . were not fitted and suited to make for the success of a republican form of Government. Hence they were denied citizenship. 

Hard, emphatic, pitiless, the commentator s voice read the second set of racial laws. The laws issued that day limited the activities and the civil status of the Jews. Their children were excluded from public schoob. Jewbh teachers were dismissed. Jewish lawyers, physicians, and other professionab could practice for Jewish clients only. Many Jewbh firms were dissolved. Aryan servants were not allowed to work for Jews or to live in their homes. Jews were to be deprived of full citizenship rights, and their passports would be withdrawn. 

Eor many decades, we have seen how our ideas about the relation between civilization and environment have changed through many historical events and human efforts to seek harmony with the environment. The conventional idea in European citizenship around the birth of the industrial revolution was the idea of progress that we would always make progress to improve our future. However, the conventional idea has gradually changed to the new idea, sustainable development. And... 

Despite tireless and somewhat tiresome efforts to find an alternate basis for citizenship, the status has no logic, power, or moral force outside a nation state (Hansen 2009). A citizen is one who enjoys the firll panoply of rights—civil, social, economic, and political—accorded by a nation state a citizen can call on his or her nation state, and onty that rration state, to claim diplomatic protection and the nation state can in turn demand the ultimate loyalty of its citizens, including the obligation to fight and die.
