Chypre Family. This is an extremely popular group that was well received at the end of the 1940s. It is not exclusively masculine since many women s perfumes have been used as models for fragrances in this family. This group represents creativity at its best and shows how well a basic chypre accord can blend with new themes. [Pg.74]

In some cases, especially when the family is directed more toward Oriental fragrances, the use of vanillin can be up to 5%. These types of perfumes include Spanish fougnre, sweet or fmity chypres, woody Oriental, or spicy Oriental notes. AH the perfumes based on the sweet, warm, and powdery impressions brought by vanillin belong to the great family of the Oriental notes and of the amber notes. Vanillin, when used together with coumarin and nitro-musks, can have a concentration of up to 10%. [Pg.400]

Uses. Linalyl acetate is used extensively in perfumery. It is an excellent fragrance material for, among others, bergamot, lilac, lavender, linden, neroli, ylang-ylang, and phantasy notes (particularly chypre). Smaller amounts are used in other citrus products. Since linalyl acetate is fairly stable toward alkali, it can also be employed in soaps and detergents. [Pg.45]

Artemisia oil is used in fairly large amounts in fine fragrances (e.g., for chypre notes). The annual production is about 50 tons. FCT 1975 (13) p. 719 [8022-37-5], [84775-75-7]. [Pg.176]

Green style fine fragrances, chypres, etc. It blends well with bergamot, lime, clary sage, oakmoss and methyl. ionone. [Pg.161]

In fougeres, chypres, woody aldehydic and ambre aldehydic fragrances. It blends well in moss, wood, rose and oriental bases. [Pg.178]

B. is used in flavors for meat sauces, culinary seasonings, canned soups and dishes. In perfumery, it is used as a freshness element in Eau de Colognes and men s fragrances, as an interesting topnote in floral or green fragrances or as a contrast in heavier perfume types, such as chypre or oriental (- odor description). [Pg.21]
