We have also expanded our studies to include chromium(III) systems. However, for the chromium centers we have chosen the more volatile tri-fluoro (tfa") and hexafluoro (hfa ) derivatives of 2,4-pentanedione. Mechanistic studies of chromium chemistry tend to concentrate on complexes of the inert + 3 oxidation state which are, therefore, dealt with first. A few references to work involving other oxidation states are included at the end.
