Chromel wire

It is necessary to provide an efficient stirrer driven by a powerful motor. The yields reported were obtained using a Hershberg Chromel wire stirrer (Org. Syn. 17, 31) with other stirrers the yields were lower by about 10 per cent. [Pg.73]

The submitters used a 7 X 300-mm. externally heated column packed with a helix of Chromel wire and fitted with a partial reflux head.3... [Pg.34]

Wire imprinting was also achieved on PS, PMMA, and a copolyester material (Vivak) using chromel wire [206], Low-temperature bonding was applied for channel sealing. The EOF was found to be the highest in the copolyester chip and the lowest in the PS chip. The chromel wire was stretched taut and placed... [Pg.33]

Crystals of the various alkali tungsten bronzes were prepared by electrolysis from a melt of the appropriate alkali tungstate and W03. The electrolytic cell consisted of a glazed ceramic crucible, a Chromel wire cathode, and a graphite anode. Crystals were obtained under the following conditions temperatures of the melt, 750° to 900° C. current through the cell, 15 to 50 ma. time of electrolysis, 12 to 24 hours. [Pg.242]

Constantan disk Chromel disk Chromel wire... [Pg.335]

Danley 2003,2004). In addition to the sample and reference sensors, an additional center thermocouple, denoted To (Tzero), is utilized for the heat flow measurements. Similar to the 910,2910, and 2920 modules, there are two raised platforms for the sample and the reference on a constantan disk, which acts as a heat leak. The sample and reference disk thermocouples are attached to the underside of each platform. Two AT measurements are made. The first is taken between the chromel wires that are attached to the chromel disk area detectors. In addition, ATo is measured between chromel wires attached to the sample chromel disk and the To sensor. A chromel wire is looped between the sample chromel disk and the Tq sensor, which measures the sample temperature at the raised pod. The Tq sensor temperature is measured at the junction of the constantan and chromel wires attached at the center of the heat leak base. [Pg.24]

Two-inch schedule-40 pipe (in stainless steel or Inconel) would be a suitable reaction tube having an i.d. of 5.25 cm = 2.6 times the largest pellet diameter. The o.d. of such a pipe is 2.375 in., which would fit within resonable clearance inside a 2.5-in. i.d. tubular furnace. A reasonable heated length for the furnace is 5 x 2.5 in. = 12.5 in. Chromel wire should be adequate for the furnace coils. Sufficient information has now been obtained to order a tubular furnace. [Pg.241]
