Rack ovens have central rack which is rotated around a vertical pivot (Figures 8 and 9). The rack accepts trays of products. The rotating rack evens out the flow of heat to the products. As the rack rotates hot air is blown over the products so that a very even heat distribution is obtained. So, go ahead and enjoy your Christmas pudding, white or black. [Pg.217]

Thomson s plum-pudding model of the atom. Thomson proposed that the atom might be made of thousands of tiny, negatively charged particles swarming within a cloud of positive charge, much like plums and raisins in an old-fashioned Christmas plum pudding. [Pg.90]

Such adages as sweets for the sweet and sugar and spice and everything nice indicate that many people look on desserts as a delightful and romantic conclusion to each meal. Special occasion meals would not be considered proper unless the traditional desserts were served for example, pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving, and mincemeat pie or plum pudding for Christmas. And what would a birthday party be without a birthday cake ... [Pg.266]
