Choetospila elegans

Flinn, P.W. 1998. Temperature effects of efficacy of Choetospila elegans (Hymenoptera Pteromalidae) to suppress Rhyzopertha dominica (Coleoptera Bostrichidae) in stored wheat. J. Econ. Entomol. 91, 320-323. [Pg.286]

Howard, R. W. and Liang, Y. (1993). Cuticular hydrocarbons of winged and wingless morphs of the ectoparasitoid Choetospila elegans Westwood (Hymenoptera Pteromalidae) and its host, larval lesser grain borer (Rhyzopertha dominica) (Coleoptera Bostrichidae). Comp. Biochem. Physiol. B, 106,407 414. [Pg.318]

Parasitoids applied in the storage environment include Anisopteromalus calan-dreae, where two to three releases at nine-day intervals of the parasitoid at 10 x the density of the prey, Sitophilus oryzae were recommended (Smith, 1994). Choetospila elegans has also been applied against S. oryzae (Williams and Floyd, 1971), while Bracon hebetor and Trichogramma pretiosum (Brower and Press, 1990) have been used against Ephestia cautella and Plodia interpunctella, and Ventura canescens against only the former host. [Pg.163]

Williams, R.N. and Floyd, E.H. (1971) Effect of two parasites, Anisopteromalus calandrae and Choetospila elegans, upon populations of the maize weevil, under laboratory and natural conditions. Journal of Economic Entomology 64, 1407-1408. [Pg.205]
