Chiral molecules biological sampling

Cram, Donald James (1919-2001) American chemist who in 1972 described the synthesis of left- and right-hand (chiral) structural forms of the molecules of certain cyclic polyethers (crown ethers) and achieved a method of the separation of left-and right-handed forms (enantiomers) so as to produce enantiometrically pure samples. This is important because enantiomers may have different biological properties. For this... [Pg.142]
