Children’s Global Assessment Scale

Functional improvement can be measured using several rating scales, such as a score <70 in the Global Assessment of Function (GAF) Scale (GAF) (DSM-IV American Psychiatric Association, 1994a) or the Children s Global Assessment Scale (C-GAS) (Shaffer et ah, 1983).

Increased research is needed to assess levels of exposure to environmental chemicals on a global scale, particularly in developing countries. Additional studies are also needed for the development and improvement of methods for monitoring children s exposure and for the availability of improved biomarkers of exposure.
