Chen Guofu

Chen Guofu has suggested that the rhymes of the portions in verses (i.i3aio-i4b9, and 2.133-6) show that the first part of the text (i.ia-2.4b9) dates from the late first century bce or the early first century CE, and that the second part (z.4bio-3.i8a) is of a later date. The reliability of this indication, however, is questionable. ... 

The first author to support his dating with some details was Chen Guofu, who in 1963 indicated a compilation in the Tang period based on the place names cited in the text and the mention of Tao Tfongjing (456-... 

The evidence provided by Sivin and Chen Guofu is examined below as part of the available details on the date of the Jiudan jingjue.
