Chemicals cyclododecatriene from

The submitters used material available from Hiils Company in Germany. This material was contaminated with 1-3% of the more easily reduced /raMi,/r(i s,Aldrich Chemical Company, Inc. The gas chromatogram (see Note 6) of this material exhibited no peak corresponding to the all-ira j-triene, an indication that less than 1% of this contaminant was present. [Pg.98]

The checkers and the submitters used reagent available from Chemical Samples Co. The submitters state that other isomers such as trans,trans,cis-, 5,9-cyclododecatriene or a mixture of isomers can be used.3 In this case a slightly different isomer distribution is observed, and the yields of isolated product are somewhat lower. The checkers confirmed this observation, using trans, trans, cis reagent available from Aldrich Chemical Company, Inc. [Pg.54]

Metathesis technology enables the synthesis of many other high-purity olefins for the speciality chemicals market. Phillips have produced multi-ton quantities of hexa-1,5-diene via ethenolysis of cyclooctadiene and cyclododecatriene over a W03/Si02 catalyst reaction (9). High yields of deca-1,9-diene can be obtained from ethenolysis of cyclooctene (obtained by partial hydrogenation of readily available cyclooctadiene), reaction (10). Similarly, tetradeca-1,13-diene can be obtained via ethenolysis of cyclododecene (obtained from cyclododecatriene) (Banks 1982, 1984a). [Pg.404]
