Cheap bread

Some supermarkets use cheap bread to attract customers. The supermarket management, knowing that bread is a basic necessity, reckon that if the customer can be lured into the supermarket with the offer of cheap bread then their trade can be captured. Producing the cheapest possible bread does not have a positive effect on quality. 

Taos has plenty of restaurants catering to the tourists and skiers that pour into this small town on weekends, but Main-street Bakery Cafe is a local s spot. Fresh breads, locally grown vegetables, and cheap prices in a simple setting keep folks pouring in. 

One key circumstance is that the mass of the population in affluent countries has for the first time in history been able to enjoy a rich diet high in animal products (meats, dairy foods), and has not been restricted by harsh economic conditions to cheap starchy foods (bread, potatoes, pasta, oatmeal, cornmeal, etc.).
