Uranium appears to be very efficient in catalyzing initial fuUerene formation. In addition, if an encapsulating species is small enough to form M C2s, it must also stabilize C28 by charge transfer sufficiently to be observed, or all of the species may grow to larger fullerenes after initial formation in carbon vapor.
