Centrifuge characteristic parameter

In order to describe the discussed distribution function, three characteristic parameters are used in polymer science. They are named number average, weight average (M ), and centrifuge average (M )... 

The characteristic geometric parameter is undoubtedly the diameter, d, of the foam centrifuge (here the diameter of the cone base). 

Centrifugal filtration is a complex process that is dependent on a number of parameters including liquid viscosity, cake thickness, centrifugal force, screen area, and importantly, the size and packing characteristics of the particles themselves. This technique is generally not amenable to broad generalizations and is, therefore, best approached on a case by case basis. 

Analysis cf Physicochemical Parameters The wastewater characteristics such as pH, COD, BOD, total solids (TS), total dissolved solids (TDS), total suspended solids (TSS), total alkalinity and total acidity as acetic acid were determined as per standard methods (APHA). The treated wastewater samples were centrifuged (Remi Instruments, Mumbai) to obtain a clear supernatant and precipitate. The COD of the effluent, before and after treatment, was determined by the standard dichromate closed reflux method as per the standard. The COD value was assayed with a COD analyser (Aqualytic, Germany). 

The separative properties of the centrifuge depend upon two fluid mechanical characteristics of the device, the flow pattern efficiency E and the internal circulation parameter m. Both of these parameters depend upon double integrals of the axial velocity profile. The efficiency E requires knowledge of the shape of the velocity profile. In addition, calculation of m is possible only if the magnitude and shape of the axial velocity profile are known.
