2 Catalytic Removal of the Electro Toxic Organic Wastes 

Rubber gloves, gaskets, epoxy resin, kerosene, and oil waste have been oxidatively consumed in this simple electrochemical way [32]. There are significant environmental advantages of this electrochemical approach. Were one to bum the wastes, they would contaminate the atmosphere. Low current density chlorine evolution may be used in electrolysis involving oxides, particularly in dealing with sewage (Tennakoon, 1993) [33]. 

Other fields to conquer here include the destruction of Agent Orange, of explosives, and other agents intended for use in biological warfare. The work of Stoner on the destruction of bacteria has been known since 1975. The avoidance of the buildup of dead bacteria (thus reducing the heat conductivity in pipes associated with OTEC) is noteworthy. The electrochemical method produces hydrogen peroxide on the bacteria adsorbed on the pipe surfaces and eliminates their negative effects on the pipe s heat conductivity.
