Case thickness

Bucket elevators are the simplest and most dependable units for making vertical lifts. They are available in a wide range of capacities and may operate entirely in the open or be totally enclosed. TFe trend is toward highly standardized units, but for special materials and high capacities it is wise to use specially engineered equipment. Main variations in quality are in casing thickness, bucket thickness, belt or chain quahty, and drive equipment. [Pg.1918]

Cells immobilized in gels showed lower volumetric rates of hydrogen photoproduction as compared with immobilization on porous glass. In some cases, the diflusion limitation of the process rate was the main reason as shown above. In other cases thick layer of dense culture was insufficiently illuminated. The observation, that hydrogen production rate was higher when the layer of matrix was thinner, supports this suggestion (Tab. 3). [Pg.65]

In compounds 7 and 8, we have studied the influence, on the thermal behavior, of the presence of Me3Si substituents on the Cp ring of Ti(lV) trichloro derivatives. Such groups should help in the elimination of the Cl atoms through formation of volatile Me3SiCl in the gas phase. Thermal analyses showed that both compounds are volatile and decompose below 623 K. Cold wall CVD experiments run at 973 K and normal pressure yielded in both cases thick films (up to 15 pm) that were identified by XRD as TiC. The deposits were free of chlorine but slightly contaminated with... [Pg.161]

The ratio of interlayer space of montmorillonite lamella to the volume of external water determines the macroscale diffusion characteristics of saturated bentonite. In our case thickness of one montmorillonite lamella is given as Inm. The hydration number is thought to be n=2. We assume the number of montmorillonite layers of one stack is 10, 8, 6 and 4. Then if the saturated or dry density is given, the average distance of external pore water X given in Figure 6 is decided from the swelling data calculated by MD (see Kawamura Ichikawa, 2001). [Pg.462]

A choke section is then usually formed as part of the covers to restrain overcarry with the screw. This form of construction allows access to inspect the screw and the outlet port by cover removal, but introduces sealing requirements not called for with extended circular sections of casing. Casing thickness is normally not a difficult issue. There is no wear by movement of material on the contact surface, unless the product is fibrous or of such a nature as to scour the clearance layer as it moves along the screw axis. [Pg.124]

By comparison, chemical suit materials, especially those classified as disposable or limited use, are identified by unique trademarks. In many cases, thickness is not a measure of chemical barrier in those products. Even thin materials can show a high level of barrier against chemicals and not others. This is why selection tables such as these are important - to make sure that the suit or glove material is a barrier to a specific chemical. [Pg.19]

Specimen thickness is controlled as closely as possible to a layer. 050 inch thick. Some tests are run with residue only, and in such cases, thickness cannot be controlled. [Pg.31]
