CAS Naming Conventions and CASRN

Perhaps the commonest means by which chemists identify and describe chemical substances is through CAS names and CASRN. CAS is a division of the American Chemical Society. CAS names and CASRN are widely accepted and used throughout the world as a consistent and valid method of identifying chemical substances.
