Cardiopulmonary resuscitation approach

Chapter 18 presents a biomedical analysis of cardiopulmonary resuscitation. This work begins by characterizing open and closed chest techniques. The authors then review the broad range of adjuvant techniques, such as MAST augmented or impulse CPR. The chapter proposes a modeling based approach suggesting that CPR as a technique should reestablish cardiac valvular function to be effective.
