A novel series of extended Cj.-symmetrical tribenzotriquinacenes were transformed to the first triquinacene-based tris(dithiametacyclophanes) the desired 2,3,6,7,10,11-hexaAA(chloromethyl)-4b,8b, 12b, 12d-tetramethyl-4b,8b, 12b, 12d-tetrahydrodibenzo[2,3 4,5]-pentaleno[ 1,6- y/)Jindene, prepared from the bridgehead-methylated tribenzotriquinacene, when treated with a dithiol in the presence of CS2CO3 gave (51%) the macrocyclized 

12d-tetramethyl-4b,8b,12b,12d-tetrahydro-2,ll 3,6 7,10-tris(methanothioethano-thiomethano)dibenzo[2,3 4,5]pentaleno[l, 6-ah]indene (20) 07JOC6382 .
