Carbon interdigitated electrodes

The synthesis and electrochemical properties of carbon films prepared from positive photoresist have been reported.The initial direction for this work was the fabrication of carbon interdigitated electrodes. In this work, positive photoresist was spin coated on a silicon substrate, patterned by photolithography, and pyrolyzed to form the carbon electrode. In more recent work, laser excitation has been used to both pyrolyze the film and to write the electrode pattern. ... 

In Carbon-Microelectromechanical system (C-MEMS), carbon interdigitated electrodes are fabricated from positive photoresist spin coated on a silicon substrate. 

Gas sensors are meant to detect volatile compounds when related to the human body these can be odour of urine, armpit sweat or exhaled breath. Seesaard et al. (2015) report on an embroidered sensor that functions as a wearable electronic nose, also referred to as e-nose . Functionalized single-wall carbon nanombe sensing materials were deposited onto interdigitated electrodes that were previously embroidered with electroconductive yam on a fabric substrate (Fig. 2.9).

Gas sensor applications of hybrids based on MN4-MC and CNTs have also been described. Liang et al. [55] demonstrated the fabrication and application of 2,9,16,23-tetrakis(2,2,3,3-tetralluoropropoxy) metal(II) phthalocyanines functionalized carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs/TFPMPc, M=Co, Zn, Cu, Pb, Pd, and Ni) for NH3 detection. The self-assembly method based on the jt-jt interactions was used to modify the CNTs, subsequendy deposited on gold interdigitated electrodes by drop-dry technique (Fig. 8a).
